Scan the QR on any Obras document and the live record shows the current approved revision, approval status, owner and sign-offs — and flags a superseded copy as superseded.
A complete Obras controlled SWMS — editable Word + PDF, Australia-wide. The free sample is being prepared and is released with the controlled library. No card, no account.
The SWMS in the folder and the SWMS that is approved are two different documents more often than anybody admits. A QR band is the cheapest way to stop guessing which one you are holding.
NSW, QLD and the ACT run the WHS Act 2011. WA runs the WHS Act 2020. SA and Tasmania run the WHS Act 2012. The NT runs the WHS (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011.
Victoria runs the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and its own regulations. A document that cites the model WHS Regulation is simply wrong on a Victorian site.
Safe Work Australia writes the model laws; it does not regulate anybody. Your regulator is SafeWork NSW, WorkSafe Victoria, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, and so on.
Every SWMS exists in a version that names the right Act, the right regulation and the right regulator for the state it will be used in.
Latest controlled SWMS version — Master Rev 22 ยท completed and verified 4 October 2026.
The free Obras SWMS sample carries the same QR band as every paid document. Download it, scan the code, and see the control record it returns.
Professionally prepared templates — tailor them to your site, consult the workers doing the work, and have a competent person approve them before use. General information, not legal advice.
