Site chat

A group chat for one job. Make a room, print the QR, stick it in the shed — everyone scans it and they are in. Nobody installs anything, nobody hands over a phone number, and nobody has to be added to a group by an admin who is on leave.

Read this before you use it. Anyone who has the room code can read and post — that is the whole security on it. So treat it like a whiteboard in the crib room, not a private message. No names of injured people, no incident details, no personal information, no photos of paperwork. If it matters, it belongs in the site diary or an incident report, not here.

Already been given a code?
Why you cannot pick your own code. A room called SITE1 or RIVERSIDE would be found by anyone having a guess, and the crew would never know. The code is generated so it cannot be stumbled onto. Rooms go quiet and delete themselves after a week with no messages.

The things that do need to be a record

Chat is for “the crane is down, go to level 6 instead”. The SWMS, the permits, the prestarts and the diary are the ones that get asked for afterwards.
